The Center for Learning and Writing, known as the Bear CLAW, provides services when classes are in session. Located on the 1st floor of Meyer Library.
As part of the division of Student Success, our mission is to empower students to reach their academic, personal and professional goals by providing high-impact learning experiences. The Bear CLAW focuses on supporting students, faculty, and staff through a learning environment that encourages social interaction and collaborative work. Staffed by students trained in best learning practices, in-person and online, the Bear CLAW includes subject area tutoring, peer mentors and coaches, and the Writing Center, office hours for GA’s and study session leaders, and delivers a variety of workshops designed to improve student success and retention. With this additional academic support, we provide services to advance the Public Affairs Mission.
If the university is closed AND offices are closed, so is the Bear CLAW.
If classes move to remote learning but the offices remain open our drop-in tables will be closed. However, any appointments will be moved to online.
